WHO WE ARE

UCLA Women's Club Soccer is a group of 29 talented and competitive women united by their love of the game. We are thrilled to return this year after an incredible season last year, during which we reached the National Championship and were officially recognized as one of the top club soccer teams in America. This season, at our annual tryouts, we picked up 10 new players and are led by a new coach, Derek! 

Seniors: Issy Southern, Kate Armbrust, Kaella Chin, Sam Gugliuzza, Ali Shea, Kaya Lash, Payton Fitzpatrick, Lauren Yee.

Returning players:  Gabby Loughran, Lily Rodriguez, Mia Khouri, Brooklyn Horst, Mia Kim, Issy Walker, Sadie Lahey-Teare, Viv Divol, Gianna Feldsien, Sybil Arabi.

New players: Kaylene Magana, Danyela Jara, Mariam Yusuf, Katherine Le, Peyton Vovan, May Lu, Ellie Korman, Jaida Pryor, Alyssa Jacquez, Abby Slusser, Kylie Long.

ON AND OFF THE PITCH

The UCLA Women's Club Soccer team strives for success in all aspects of our lives, from the field to the classroom, to jobs and internships. While we practice 3 times a week and play up to 5 games on weekends, players also devote time to other clubs and activities on top of the demanding coursework required of students at UCLA!

Beyond that, UCLA Women's Club Soccer is a family. We make time to have fun with each other, such as movie nights, living together, beach runs, and singing sessions in the car. Off the field, we have become close friends and made connections that will endure long after graduation.

IMPORTANCE OF FUNDRAISING

As a student-run club, we rely on member dues and community support. Thanks to the generosity of our friends, families, and alumni, we raise thousands of dollars each year to cover essential expenses such as equipment, tournament fees, and travel. However, due to costs accumulated in previous seasons, our club currently carries debt. We are actively working to overcome this financial challenge through continued fundraising and responsible budgeting, ensuring a strong foundation for future teams. 

NATIONALS

This year, we have secured another bid to return to Nationals in Kansas! Our goal is to raise $10,000, most of which will go to covering travel expenses for the trip. Before Nationals, we play a Regional Tournament at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, which requires lodging and travel expenses. Anything you can give to help us make it to Kansas is greatly appreciated.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

2021:

• Placed 1st in league.
• Ranked among the Top 16 teams in the nation.

2022:

• Defeated Kansas University in the Open Division National Championship game.

2023:

• Most successful season in program history.
• Victories: UCSB Tournament, League Championship, and National Championship.
• Earned the title of #1 Club Team in America.

2024: 

• Returned to the National Championship game once again.
• Champions of UCSB Tournament
