Champion Jewish Studies at UCLA

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1994, the UCLA Alan D. Leve Center for Jewish Studies serves as the hub for research, teaching and civic engagement in Jewish studies at one of the world's most prestigious research universities — located in the global city of Los Angeles. With an impressive roster of over 30 affiliated faculty spanning 12 departments across campus, the Alan D. Leve Center is a crossroads of intellectual investigation and one of the most active centers for Jewish studies in North America. The Center is named in honor of UCLA alumnus, entrepreneur and philanthropist Alan D. Leve, whose visionary gift in 2015 established endowments in support of student excellence, teaching innovation, and research.

WHAT WE DO

The Alan D. Leve Center is known for its strengths in American Jewish history and culture, Holocaust studies, European Jewish thought, Sephardic Studies, North African Jewry, Middle Eastern Jewish history and culture, research on antisemitism, Yiddish, and Jewish Antiquity. As we look toward the future, we are working to expand our vision for advancing scholarship, educating the next generation about the role of Judaism in world civilization, challenging antisemitism with enlightenment, and serving as an exceptional public resource for Jewish life and learning.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Your gift of any size enables the Alan D. Leve Center to host lectures, symposia, film screenings and other public programs that ensure scholarly research and teachings on Jewish culture and tradition are available and accessible to audiences inside and outside the university. Show your support during UCLA's 14th annual Blue & Gold Challenge, which brings alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends of the university together in the spirit of generosity to invest in all the areas of campus that are meaningful to them.

With your gift of $25 or more before November 9, you'll lock in the UCLA Limited Collector's Edition Enamel Pin Set above to start (or add to) your collection.
