The UCLA Samueli Makerspace - Where Students Design. Build. Create.
What is the UCLA Samueli Makerspace?
The UCLA Samueli Makerspace is a 9,000-square-foot innovation lab that gives all students the ability to do hands-on engineering and opportunities to collaborate, experiment, and put into practice the theories they're learning in class. This space is equipped with a variety of resources, including dozens of 3D printers, laser cutters, two wet labs, and a Virtual Reality room. With your support, we can continue to keep this space open and accessible to our engineering students for years to come.
This past academic year, the Makerspace had over 7,000 3D prints, which roughly adds up to 42,000 print hours!

How will my donation be used?
Your support will help us continue to acquire new, state-of-the-art tools and machinery, and replenish current supplies. Recently, thanks to past donations, the Makerspace was able to acquire:
a computer numerical control (CNC) router
a scroll saw
5-color 3D printers

Beyond providing space, equipment and resources for students to build individual and student club projects - the Makerspace provides a multi-use classroom and supplies that gives students the opportunity to teach their own "Engineering 1 (E1)" classes, with topics like:
Robotics
3D Pharmaceuticals
Bionics
Go-Karts
These classes have become so popular that a record-breaking 15 E1 courses are being offered this academic year.
Since the Makerspace doesn't currently charge any course fees for the E1 classes, your donation has a huge impact on funding the supplies, materials and resources needed to help ensure these courses are such a success for our students and student-teachers alike.
Thank You!
The UCLA Samueli Makerspace is an incredible space for students to bring their most fantastic ideas to life!
