UCLA is a big place. For many students, finding a community that feels like home shapes their entire experience here.
That is why the Latinx Success Center (LSC) exists. Now in its second year, the LSC is a place where students find family, connect with one another, and access opportunities to thrive. We work with and beside students as they find their path at UCLA and beyond.
This month we welcome students back with the Latinx Welcome on October 8 and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. To mark the moment, we are asking our community for 100 gifts by October 31. This goal is about participation. When we give together, it shows UCLA that this community stands behind the LSC.
This month, if you give $25 or more, you can get your very own LSC T-shirt to show your support!
Many of us found our footing because someone made room for us. This is a chance to do the same for the students coming next.
UCLA es una universidad extensa y diversa. Para muchos estudiantes, encontrar una comunidad que se sienta como un hogar define toda su experiencia aquí.
Por eso se creó el Latinx Success Center (LSC). Ahora, al celebrar su segundo aniversario, LSC se ha convertido en un espacio donde los estudiantes se sienten en familia, crean conexiones significativas y reciben el apoyo que necesitan para avanzar y alcanzar sus metas. Trabajamos de la mano con nuestros estudiantes, acompañándolos en cada paso para que encuentren su camino dentro de UCLA y construyan su futuro.
Este mes damos la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes en su regreso a clases con el Latinx Welcome el 8 de octubre, mientras celebramos el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Para conmemorar este momento, nos hemos propuesto la meta de recibir 100 donativos a más tardar el 31 de octubre. Este objetivo se enfoca en la participación: cuando donamos juntos, le demostramos a UCLA que nuestra comunidad respalda firmemente al LSC.
¡Este mes, al donar $25 o más, recibirá su propia camiseta del LSC para mostrar su apoyo!
Muchos de nosotros encontramos nuestro lugar gracias a que alguien nos abrió un espacio. Esta es la oportunidad perfecta para hacer lo mismo por las próximas generaciones de estudiantes.
For students. The LSC provides academic, personal, and professional support through resources that reflect students' cultures and languages. Programs include a mental health and wellness series, career pathways programming with alumni, and partnerships with campus programs such as the Undocumented Student Program and the Academic Advancement Program. The center also brings student organizations together and connects students to resources across campus. And every step of the way, students help shape the center through our two advisory boards.
For alumni. The LSC connects current students with alumni and partners with the Latino Alumni Association, the Undocumented Alumni Association, and the Grupo Folklórico de UCLA alumni association. Many alumni have told the center they wish a space like this had existed when they were students. Now, it's here.
For the community. K-14 schools, parent groups, and community agencies reach out to tour the center, hear from a student panel, and attend a presentation. By hosting the annual Latinx Welcome, we are inviting our broader Los Angeles community to step inside and join us.
Para los estudiantes. El LSC brinda apoyo académico, personal y profesional mediante recursos que reflejan las culturas e idiomas de nuestra comunidad estudiantil. Nuestros programas incluyen un ciclo de salud mental y bienestar, mentorías de desarrollo profesional con egresados y colaboraciones estratégicas con iniciativas del campus, tales como el Undocumented Student Program y el Academic Advancement Program. Asimismo, el centro une a las organizaciones estudiantiles y conecta a los alumnos con los diversos recursos disponibles en toda la universidad. En cada paso del camino, los estudiantes ayudan a construir el centro a través de nuestros dos comités asesores.
Para exalumnos. El LSC conecta a los estudiantes actuales con la comunidad de egresados y colabora estrechamente con la Latino Alumni Association, la Undocumented Alumni Association y la asociación de exalumnos del Grupo Folklórico de UCLA. Muchos egresados le han expresado al centro que les habría gustado contar con un espacio así cuando eran estudiantes. Hoy, ese espacio ya es una realidad.
Para la comunidad. Escuelas K-14, grupos de padres de familia y organizaciones comunitarias se ponen en contacto con nosotros para recorrer el centro, escuchar a paneles de estudiantes y asistir a presentaciones informativas. Además, al organizar el Latinx Welcome cada año, invitamos a toda nuestra comunidad de Los Ángeles a participar y acompañarnos.

Should this fund reach the campus minimum required for the establishment of an endowment or quasi-endowment, The UCLA Foundation reserves the right to convert this fund to an endowment or quasi-endowment. Please click here to learn more about how the UCLA Foundation invests and manages its endowments.
Gifts are managed and invested in accordance with UCLA’s endowment investment policies. The total return earned in excess of the amount approved annually for payout will be retained in the endowment principal to protect from the effects of inflation and to allow for growth. At the discretion of the appropriate campus office, when the payout is not needed for purposes of the fund, the return of payout may be added to the endowment fund principal. In the event the fund does not reach endowment minimum; or the program ceases to exist at UCLA, proceeds from the fund will be utilized in an area and manner as closely related as possible to the original intent and purposes for which the fund was established.
Although the Endowment is intended to exist in perpetuity, unforeseen circumstances may alter or remove the subject area from the campus academic plan or it may become impossible, impracticable or wasteful to administer. In such an event, the Chancellor is authorized to redesignate the purpose of the Endowment, after taking into consideration the designated endowment purpose.
