The UCLA Latino Alumni Association (ULAA) announces the launch of 60,000 STRONG: One Comunidad. Driving Change. Creating Impact, a campaign to bring more Bruins together to strengthen our community and create opportunities for the next generation. Our goal is to raise $15,000 or more in operational funds to expand ULAA’s programs and services for undergraduate and graduate students and support alumni events and programs.

Creating Opportunities for the Next Generation. 

Whether you make a financial gift, mentor a student, share your expertise, volunteer, or simply stay connected, you are helping open doors for the next generation of Bruins. We turn alumni engagement into meaningful opportunities for students and alumni. Through mentorship, scholarships, career connections, leadership development, and community, we help Bruins find their people, build confidence, and create their own path forward.

• Our annual OrgullOSO Mentorship Program pairs undergraduate and graduate students with alumni for a yearlong mentorship, providing guidance, support, and connections throughout their time at UCLA.

• Scholarship Support provides students with financial assistance to help ease the cost of higher education and focus on their academic goals. Since 1989, ULAA has awarded more than 700 scholarships, including more than $125,000 in recent years. Today, the combined value of our scholarship funds exceeds $1 million, creating even more opportunities for the next generation of Bruins.

• Career Panels and Workshops provide students with opportunities to build confidence, develop professionally, and connect with alumni and campus partners. Through programs such as Speak Up Mujer, Latinx Success Center (LSC) partnerships, Career Center collaborations, and HSI Initiative connections, we create spaces for students to connect, grow, and recognize their potential.

• Summer Bruin Send Off welcomes first-year students and incoming transfer students to UCLA and connects them with resources, student organizations, and campus partners such as Wescom, UCLA Athletics, and the LSC Center.

• Graduation Bash celebrates graduating students and welcomes them into the UCLA Latino alumni network, connecting them with alumni and leaders across industries as they take their next steps.

• Job and Career Connections leverage our extensive alumni network to connect students with industry professionals who can help open doors to internships, jobs, and career opportunities.

• Student Leadership gives students opportunities to serve on committees, work alongside board members, and contribute to ULAA’s mission while developing their own leadership skills.

• Alumni Leadership gives alumni opportunities to reconnect with UCLA by serving on our board or joining our volunteer program. Alumni can build skills in leadership, collaboration, event planning, and more while helping advance ULAA’s mission.

• Mixers and Networking Events throughout Southern California and the Bay Area give alumni opportunities to reconnect with old friends, build new relationships, and expand their personal and professional networks.

• Opportunities to Connect and Give Back through ULAA events, participation in panels, social gatherings, and annual events such as tailgates and Bruin Send-Offs, as well as hikes, mixers, galas, scholarship fundraisers, and other off-campus events, are made possible through the generosity of our donors. These opportunities strengthen our community, foster meaningful connections, and bring Bruins together across generations.

• Alumni Networking and Partnerships create opportunities for alumni to connect with industry leaders and expand their networks through events and partnerships with organizations such as the LA Clippers, UCLA Athletics, and other Latino alumni associations.
