You Can Help Build the Future of Women’s Flag Football at UCLA

UCLA Women’s Flag Football is a student-led program dedicated to expanding access, visibility, and opportunity for women in one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. As flag football gains national momentum, highlighted by its inclusion in the LA28 Olympic Games and its designation as an NCAA emerging sport for women, the demand for participation has surged. However, institutional resources, infrastructure, and funding have not yet caught up with this rapid growth.

This project directly addresses that gap by providing critical support for equipment, field access, coaching and training resources, travel, and competitive opportunities. These investments allow our team to operate safely, competitively, and sustainably while maintaining an inclusive environment that welcomes athletes of all experience levels. As a student-run organization, our players not only compete on the field but also lead every aspect of the program, from logistics and fundraising to recruitment and community outreach, developing leadership, accountability, and advocacy skills that extend far beyond sport.

By strengthening the foundation of UCLA Women’s Flag Football, this initiative helps build a model for what equitable growth in women’s athletics can look like during a pivotal moment for the sport.
