Who We Are

Being a Bruin Ranger isn’t like joining any other club; it's joining a family. Established in 1975 by a group of tenacious students, these women fought tooth and nail to cement themselves and their team as a force to be reckoned with across the US. Since 2005, we've been competing in the collegiate division of the Southern California Women's Rugby Union and are now a part of the D1 Pacific Desert Rugby Conference, playing against teams across southern California and Arizona. This year, we are seeking funds to ensure the safety and security of our team, aiming to purchase tackle vests and to have the means to travel and pay all expenses for the success of our club. But we can’t do this alone; we need your help and support to meet our goals.

Our Mission

Although we are a highly competitive team here at UCLA, the Women’s Rugby team is not funded by the university nor currently recognized by the NCAA. The UCLA Women’s Rugby team aspires to achieve official NCAA recognition in the future, becoming part of the 40 teams included once Women’s Rugby attains NCAA championship status. And once it does, you can bet on us to be ready. Each year, our program grows and develops thanks to the dedication and hard work of our players, but without the funding from these esteemed organizations, all sports dues and other expenses come out of players' pockets. This is where our generous donors, like you, can help.

How YOU Can Help

With your charitable contribution, you can help us provide the resources our team needs to make it all possible. From water bottles and proper jerseys to tournament entry and referee compensation, every donation affords our players the opportunity to evolve and elevate at the highest level. A donation of even $7 could provide one of our ruggers with a game-ready mouth guard, but a donation of $250 would accommodate several ruggers with lodging for away tournaments. Be that change today.
