Background Information
Created over 45 years ago in 1980, UCLA’s National Society of Black Engineers or NSBE chapter has been constantly striving to support black engineers in their paths to success. UCLA’s NSBE chapter currently has around 70 members, representing each major in the school of Engineering, and even some in the applied sciences. Without much support however, these students are not able to reach their highest potential of success. There are only around 5% of undergraduates and 6% of graduates in total who are Black, not including the smaller number of Black engineering students. This leads to Black students who need a community and support.
What is NSBE Nationals?
The NSBE Annual Convention is our largest conference of the year with 15,000+ Black engineering students and professionals from around the country gathering for an immersive experience full of professional growth, networking, career fairs, workshops, community building, research competitions, and more!
Last year, many of our members received interviews for jobs, internship offers, and scholarships from the NSBE Nationals Conference! Seven of our NSBE at UCLA members were elected to be on the NSBE Regional Executive Board for the 2025-2026 academic year and many of our members competed in the various competitions!
This year, the NSBE National Convention will be held in Baltimore, Maryland and we would like to bring 20-25 of our NSBE at UCLA members! We have to travel further even this year for the Annual Convention and ask for your help in providing assistance to bring more members. The estimated cost to fund one student is $1300.

Help support the next generation of Black engineers and access the resources that they need in order to succeed!
Your donation will go directly to help a Black engineer attend this year's NSBE Annual Convention, giving students the opportunity to be able to attend the Convention without worrying about the price of flights, hotels, and registration for the Convention.
