Alumni Scholars Club 2026
Scholars Supporting Scholars: A Legacy That Lives Forward

We don’t just support scholars. We build them.
The Alumni Scholars Club (ASC) is a vibrant community of merit and leadership based scholars brought together by the belief that excellence should be met with opportunity. Since its founding in 1976, ASC has existed to make sure that exceptional students do not face exceptional obstacles alone.
The Alumni Scholars Club develops leaders, not resumes. From career preparation to peer support, ASC creates the environment where driven students become impactful professionals. Throughout the academic year, scholars gain access to mentorship, professional development, and leadership experiences designed to shape confident capable graduates prepared to lead in the real world. Most impactfully, our scholars build lasting relationships with alumni who guide their personal and professional journeys.
Our 620 active scholars represent the best of UCLA, and as recipients of the generosity of alumni who came before them, they honor that gift through action. Through initiatives such as mentoring Los Angeles youth, donation-based programs, and countless service projects, our scholars contribute thousands of hours to the broader community. In giving back, our scholars learn that leadership without service is hollow, and that true leadership is rooted in responsibility.

ASC is more than an organization. It is a support system, a network, and a community for life.

Someone’s future is waiting on a yes.
Every year, more deserving scholars apply for support than resources allow. Your contribution enables the Alumni Scholars Club to provide numerous life-changing opportunities for scholars. It funds our ability to broaden our impact through community service events like our Bruin Blanket Drive. It allows us to strengthen their career readiness through résumé workshops and to build a sense of belonging at social events like our annual Friendsgiving.

The Alumni Scholars Club aims to empower scholars with confidence, connection, and opportunity, and your gift turns that vision into reality. When you support the Alumni Scholars Club, you’re investing in a leader who will carry that vision forward.

The Alumni Scholars Club (ASC) transforms lives through three interconnected pillars: Community, Leadership, and Service.
Service That Matters: Each year, Alumni Scholars collectively contribute over 10,000 volunteer hours serving UCLA and Los Angeles through programs including:
- Los Angeles Team Mentoring (LATM): Scholars mentor LA youth, providing academic support and positive role models
- Locks of Love: Organizing donation drives to provide hairpieces for children experiencing medical hair loss
- Campus and community events: From Homecoming to local volunteer initiatives, scholars are present and engaged in the Westwood community
- UCLA Alumni Association support: Scholars give back to the organization that made their education possible
Leadership Development: In addition to serving their larger community, scholars also lead. Through coordinator positions, executive board roles, and the events in Leadership Development Program, ASC members gain real-world management experience while building programs that serve hundreds of their peers.
Community Connection: From our annual Friendsgiving to our Winter Formal, ASC creates spaces where scholars connect with each other and with the alumni whose generosity made their education possible. These lasting relationships help scholars create professional networks and personal friendships that extend far beyond graduation.
