Spirit Squad
Welcome to the UCLA Athletics Day of Giving! Your generosity toward the UCLA Spirit Squad helps provide invaluable support to our student-athletes. Every gift has a positive impact on their ability to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.
The Spirit Squad represents UCLA at games and special events throughout campus, across Los Angeles, and around the country. Our 2025-26 Squad has 51 members and encompasses the Cheer Squad, Dance Team and Mascots (Joe and Josie Bruin). Members of the UCLA Spirit Squad dedicate more than 20 hours per week to practice, training and performances at game day and events. During the 2024-25 season, the Squad performed at 74 games (across all sports) in addition to 47 campus and community events.
The heavy time commitment to the Squad and travel to football and basketball games mean that Squad members are often unable to secure paid work and internships to cover tuition costs and living expenses. In addition to special events throughout the year, there is no off season for the Spirit Squad. They cheer at Football (Fall Quarter), Basketball (Fall and Winter) and Olympic sports (Fall, Winter and Spring) – so they are supporting UCLA and its teams throughout the entire school year.
