UCLA Alumni Band 50th Anniversary
The UCLA Alumni Band has been providing its unique blend of musical entertainment and unbridled enthusiasm since 1976. In addition to their regular performances before each UCLA football game at the Rose Bowl, they serve as the Official Band of UCLA Gymnastics and make regular appearances at many other UCLA and community events. All former UCLA students who play a band instrument are welcome to join.
Formed in 1976, the UCLA Alumni Band is celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season this year and is looking for financial support to be able to honor its 50 years of service as well as to help ensure its next 50 years of providing Bruin spirit.
Every year, our membership of over 125 musicians volunteer their time and talents to perform in support of UCLA and the community at large. We perform for tailgaters starting three hours prior to each home football game at the Rose Bowl, highlighted by performances with the UCLA Spirit Squad, and in the Court of Champions as people enter the stadium.
We have a special relationship with the 7-time national champion UCLA Gymnastics team, and for over 20 years we have played at the majority of their home meets in Pauley Pavilion.
You can find the Alumni Band performing at many other sports throughout the year. We love playing for Men's and Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Water Polo, Softball, Baseball, Rowing, and other sports...you never know when you'll find us providing our unique brand of spirit and fun!
We have also endowed a True Bruin Senior Scholarship that is given to rising seniors in the UCLA Band members who have been very active with the Band during their time on campus.
