UCLA Ice Hockey: Level the Ice for All Bruins

Bruin fans, we need your help!

Thanks to your continued support, the Bruins have had tremendous success making three appearances at the ACHA Men's D2 Western Regional Tournament in the past four seasons. The team has gained national recognition and is quickly becoming one of the most exciting club hockey teams to watch in the country, consistently drawing full crowds to our home games at the Cube in Santa Clarita. This upcoming season, we plan to play in Las Vegas, NV, College Station, TX, and Los Alamos, NM.

The program is an entirely player-funded organization. Unlike other sports that are located on campus, team members must pay high dues to compensate for equipment, league, travel, and practice fees. Over the next few years, we aim to cover 100% of team dues for all athletes!

Where will your donation go?

Because of our outstanding fundraising support from years prior, we have been able to expand to two practices per week for the past two seasons, accelerating our team's development. Our budget breakdown has remained the same:

1. Ice Time (45%): Since ice is not conveniently located on UCLA’s campus, the Bruins must rent ice time and other respective facilities for practices and games. A 1.5 hour practice slot can cost upwards of $500. With a 30-game season from September through February, ice time makes up the majority of our $100,000 budget.

2. Equipment (25%): Players must purchase their own equipment, much of which is not covered by team dues. Our biggest priority is making sure our athletes are equipped with safe and protective gear.

3. Travel (25%): The Bruins compete against teams in states such as Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, which requires a substantial amount of travel-related expenses. This includes: airfare, vehicle transportation, food, and hotel accommodations for a roster of 20 skaters and coaches.

4. League Fees (5%): Although such fees are a small percentage of the total budget, league payments are required for every participating ACHA program.

Expanding UCLA Hockey's Impact

With your support, we can continue to provide the UCLA community and Santa Clarita Valley with a competitive collegiate hockey program. Your donation will allow us to expand the accessibility of the club to more students and help grow the sport of ice hockey in California.

Thank you again for contributing to such a vibrant hockey atmosphere for our fans, friends, and families across the nation!
