About our Team

UCLA Men's Rowing is a Varsity Club Sport recognized by the American Collegiate Rowing Association. The team of oarsmen and coxswains wake up to practice at 5:15 AM six days a week, and they participate in grueling land workouts on the erg twice a week. This requires a commitment of over 20 hours per week, all while maintaining a team GPA of 3.7 in many of UCLA's most challenging majors.

Given its status as a club sport, UCLA Men's Rowing does not receive ANY funding from UCLA athletics. Thus, the team relies on a combination of dues from the athletes and donations from generous family members and alumni. Financial assistance is needed to maintain equipment, organize travel accommodations, and pay the entry fees at several important races. The team specifically needs help to attend the ACRA National Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the biggest race on our calendar. 

This spring, we are asking for the support of parents and friends who share a vested interest in supporting the UCLA Men's Rowing team. Support from this close-knit community is crucial, as your contributions will directly support the team's ability to attend key races and ensure the continuation of its competitive opportunities.

With your support last season, UCLA Men's Rowing was able to send four boats, with the Varsity 8+ taking a bronze medal to secure UCLA’s place on the podium for the third year in a row. The 2V8+ finished 4th in the nation, and the Novice 8+ and Varsity 4+ both came in top 10 in the nation. Your gift will help us return to the National Championships this year and win some more medals for the Bruins.
