“Wushu” or 武术 is a Chinese martial arts that incorporates a combination of traditional techniques and movements with modern acrobatic and performance elements. It is known for its dynamic and fluid movements which include kicks, punches, difficulty jumps, and weapon techniques. Since its development in 1950, Wushu has gained international popularity for its impressive displays of athleticism and artistic expression.

The Annual Collegiate Wushu Tournament (or more commonly referred to as “collegiates”) is a nationwide competition, where all college-level wushu clubs come together to demonstrate their skills, engage in friendly competition, and create meaningful connections with other wushu community members. It is an opportunity for students to celebrate the progress and achievements they have made throughout the year.

We need your support to help our team travel to Maryland for the 26th Annual Collegiate Competition. This tournament is not only a chance for our athletes to showcase their dedication and growth, but also an opportunity to strengthen our bond as a team. Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to us and help make this experience possible--thank you for your kindness and generosity!

In our last campaign, we almost reached our goal of $8,000 and were able to host the 25th Annual Collegiate Wushu Competition right on campus! We brought over 200 athletes and over 15 judges from across the country to compete in a 1-day event. We were also able to support around 30 of our UCLA Wushu athletes to compete winning 9 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals!
