MADE: Igniting Innovation at the Intersection of Art and Technology

At UCLA, we understand that the most transformative ideas emerge when different fields come together in a spirit of creativity and cooperation. MADE, which stands for Music, Art, Design, and Engineering, is dedicated to fostering collaboration across these disciplines, empowering students to think creatively and solve complex problems. With your support, we can break down traditional educational barriers and prepare the next generation of creators to lead in a rapidly changing world.

Who Are We?

MADE is a student-led initiative at UCLA that unites students from diverse fields—artists, musicians, engineers, and technologists. Our mission is to create a space where students can work together, learn from one another, and develop projects that blend creativity with technical expertise. By facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration, we believe students can push boundaries and bring new ideas to life.

The Challenge: Breaking Down Silos in Education

Traditional education often isolates disciplines such as art, science, and engineering, preventing students from exploring their interconnectedness and hindering creative collaboration. In today’s world, the ability to merge creative vision with technical know-how is crucial. MADE seeks to change this by creating an environment where students can work across disciplines, allowing them to develop solutions that are both imaginative and practical.

The Solution: A Live Event to Showcase Student Innovation

Your support will help bring this vision to life through MADE’s live event and student art showcase—an immersive experience that highlights the groundbreaking work our students are developing at the intersection of art and engineering. This event is an opportunity to see firsthand how these disciplines can come together to create something new and exciting.

We are especially excited to collaborate with Bruin Burlesque and the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) to bring an additional layer of creativity and immersive experiences to the event. These partnerships will help elevate the showcase, combining performance art, themed entertainment, and student projects in ways that engage the audience and demonstrate the power of collaboration.

The Art and Fashion Tech Exhibition will be at the center of the event, where students will present projects that merge art, design, and technology in interactive and innovative ways. Attendees will have the chance to experience wearable tech, 3D printed art, and immersive installations that explore how these disciplines can work together to create new forms of expression and functionality.
